The Skoda Enyaq iV, the brand's first electric SUV, unveiled ahead of its presentation

Skoda has got impatient and has shown us the first images of the Enyaq iV, a model that arrives as the forerunner of the new family of electric vehicles.

Skoda couldn’t hold back and has pounced on us, the press, with the official images of the new Enyaq iV, its first 100% electric SUV. The Czech firm has joined the modular MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group, the same platform already used to bring the ID.3 to life. With this in mind, Skoda shows us that its electric family has only just begun, and that very soon we will witness how this base gives rise to other vehicles in different segments but with an electric heart.

But the matter at hand today is the imminent Enyaq iV, a name corresponding to an electric SUV that not only debuts new mechanics but also embraces Skoda’s latest design language. Although we are faced with a new and fresh image within the brand, we can notice several features that quickly remind us of the Kamiq or the new Octavia.

The new Enyaq takes the opportunity to debut a modern look, supported by certain components necessary in a car of its kind, such as the closed grille, for example. The front headlights conform to Skoda’s new design canons, showing an elongated and slender aesthetic so as to fit perfectly with its physiognomy, which boasts sharp, crisp lines.

The rear conveys the same feeling, with taillights following the same line, joined by a voluminous bumper that, of course, does without an exhaust outlet. For now, the cabin remains a mystery to us, but we can expect the now-familiar Virtual Cockpit and a generous central screen that will combine several functions with the aim of doing away with physical controls.

As far as mechanics are concerned, Skoda has only promised a variant with 500 km of range, although we don’t know what performance it will offer. At the same time, we know that its range of options will consist of three different battery levels, across which both power -with five available output levels- and range will vary.

Either way, we will have to wait until September 1, the date on which the Czech firm plans to unveil the new Enyaq iV to the world. This is how Skoda ventures into the electric sector, a sector it will increasingly enter with this new range of vehicles on the way.
