The SRT Viper 2013 Will Not Come to Europe

Quite contrary to the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a spokesperson for Chrysler has confirmed that the SRT Viper 2013 will not reach dealerships in Europe. For months we have been hearing rumours about the possibility that this new supercar would not make it to the shores of the old continent, a rumour that, unfortunately, is now true.
The reasons behind the parent company’s decision centre on the fact that Chrysler, owner of both Dodge and SRT, prefers to use all of its available resources to increase Viper 2013 sales within its home country, rather than splitting its advertising budget across different markets.

Other reasons for this decision may be based on the problems facing the new vehicle market in Europe, unfavourable exchange rates, as well as the economic and financial conditions of the old continent. Moreover, Chrysler’s dealer network in Europe is very weak, so if they were to bring the SRT Viper, it would have to be sold alongside the Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia models.
Thinking about it that way, it would be strange to see a FIAT 500 next to the SRT Viper in the same showroom, two completely different brands and concepts.
On the one hand, the decision taken by the executives at Chrysler is understandable, but on the other, it is a pity to think that for the first time the Viper could be bought at an official dealership instead of having to be imported from the United States.
