The successors to the Opel Crossland and Insignia will be electric
The successors to the Opel Crossland and Insignia will be fully electric, like the rest of its range, by 2028.

Many car manufacturers are betting on electrification but, specifically Opel, which currently belongs to the Stellantis group, is becoming “purely electric in record time”. In addition, the brand has reiterated that all its models in Europe will be fully electric by 2028.
Before that happens, the manufacturer has stated on numerous occasions that it will offer an electrified version of each model it produces by 2024. They have already begun pursuing these ambitions, as the Opel Astra plug-in hybrid, the Opel Grandland plug-in hybrid, the Opel Corsa-e, the Opel Mokka-e and even the Opel Rocks-e are already available, not to mention its range of electric commercial vehicles.

The future of Opel lies in electrification
The range of fully electric Opel vehicles will grow in the future, as the companies have confirmed the launch of the successor to the Opel Crossland and the Opel Insignia. They will be joined by a “new interpretation” of the legendary Opel Manta, arriving in the mid-2020s.
The lightning bolt brand hinted at the arrival of the new Opel Manta with a concept we were able to see last year. Uwe Hochgeschurtz, the brand’s CEO, has already assured that it will be a “highly emotional car” offering “first-class acceleration and pure driving pleasure”. Uwe also wanted to add that the new model will be a “fascinating, astonishingly spacious new interpretation” of the legendary classic model.

Likewise, the manufacturer has not given many details about its upcoming electric cars, but what we do know is that they will offer improved fast-charging capability, reaching up to 32 kilometres per minute. In addition, drivers can also expect ranges of between 500 and 800 kilometres.
Turning to batteries, Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz and Total/Saft have joined forces to create Automotive Cells Company, a company that aims to develop and produce high-performance batteries. Production is scheduled for 2025, and the plant will have an industrial capacity of up to 32 GWh.
