The torque of the Honda Civic Si, leaked in an email!
A user of a specialized forum (CivicX) has published an email in which the car manufacturer itself specifies the torque figure of the upcoming Honda Civic Si.
Confidential information is by definition private and accessible to a minority, but for one reason or another, leaks keep happening throughout the automotive industry, and if you don’t believe it, ask Honda… The Japanese company has unintentionally disclosed the torque figure of the Honda Civic Si, even though the production version has not yet been unveiled. Oops!

Last November, the Japanese manufacturer unveiled the Honda Civic Si Prototype, and despite its name, the model was ready to enter production. During its launch, the only information the brand disclosed about it was the type of engine this model would use: a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine.
A few months later, a user of the CivicX forum received an email from the manufacturer itself – as part of a subscription that keeps subscribers informed of all the news about the Civic Si – which specifies the torque the sporty version of the Japanese compact will have: 192 Nm. Compared with the Sport and Touring versions, the increase in torque is 15 Nm. However, the gap with the radical Type R is 103 Nm.

We still don’t know the power output of the Honda Civic Si, but everything points to it being around 230 CV. In any case, we know the engine will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox with short shift travel. This model will introduce a limited-slip differential, active steering and high-performance tyres.
There is still no official date for the launch of this model in its final version, but its debut at next month’s New York Auto Show is a possibility that cannot be ruled out.
