The Toyota C-HR adds greater sportiness with the GR Sport trim, already available in Spain

The Toyota C-HR gains a more sporty exterior and interior design thanks to the new GR Sport trim, which is now available in Spain

Toyota continues to expand its sporty range with accessories and details brought over from Toyota Gazoo Racing, which also arrived just a few days ago on the Corolla GR Sport and now do the same on the C-HR GR Sport. It will not be a special edition as we saw will happen with the C-HR GR Sport in Japan, nor will it offer such a radical design, but it will give the C-HR a sportier image.

The Toyota C-HR GR Sport will benefit from aesthetic details, both outside and inside, inspired by those on the GR Yaris. Starting with the bodywork, which will be available in six two-tone options including the exclusive Gris Ascari colour with a black roof, the C-HR GR Sport features a darkened light cluster at the front and a piano black trim around the fog light edges, a colour that is also added to the bumper details, which has also been fitted with a small lower spoiler and a dark chrome finish on the large front grille.

Moving to the sides, piano black reappears on the lower door mouldings, matching perfectly the 19-inch alloy wheels which feature a design exclusive to this trim. At the rear, a chrome trim has been fitted to the lower part of the bumper, with a slightly different design from the other trims, and the rear reflector surrounds are now piano black. Finally, all Toyota logos now have a black background instead of the blue used on the Japanese brand’s hybrids.

Inside the Toyota C-HR GR Sport there are also aesthetic changes, with a dashboard dominated by piano black mouldings combined with silver-coloured mouldings, which also extend to the door panels, a colour likewise found on the sill trims. It features sports seats with the GR logo and red contrast stitching, also present on the steering wheel and gear lever.

The standard equipment of the Toyota C-HR GR Sport is also up to the mark, including items such as darkened rear glass, LED light clusters, heated front seats, the Intelligent Parking Assist System (S-IPA), a particle ionizer for the cabin, JBL premium sound system with 9 speakers and the latest version of the Toyota Safety Sense safety systems, which includes features such as Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with braking function.

As for the mechanical side, the Toyota C-HR GR Sport will be available only with the more powerful of the two hybrid powertrains offered, namely the 180H version, which delivers 184 CV. In addition, both the steering and the suspension receive specific tuning, improving response and dynamic behaviour of the C-HR in sporty driving conditions.

The new Toyota C-HR GR Sport is now available at Spanish dealerships with a starting price of 30,490 euros, although if you opt for the Toyota Easy Plus programme you can enjoy it from 230 euros a month, including four years of warranty and another four years of maintenance.
