iQ Toyota Salón de Tokio Tuning
The Toyota IQ, which was born with the aim of being a GR Yaris, has arrived
Small but fierce. That is the new Toyota IQ, which looks almost identical to its big brother, the GR Yaris, and which uses an engine from Kawasaki as its powertrain

Continuing with the major launches planned for the Tokyo Motor Show, which kicks off in mid-January next month, today we bring you a very curious and truly special creation that takes the small Toyota iQ as its base, becoming a scale replica of the popular GR Yaris, and which is called Yaris Jr.
Just from this name, we can imagine what we are about to see: a front end identical to that of the sportiest version of the Yaris, thanks to its large grille and identical bumpers, light units, and a carbon-fibre bonnet completing the front view of this small sports car.

A mini Yaris
If we walk around to the side, that is where we will realise that this is an Toyota IQ. This is due to its short wheelbase and reduced length, since let us remember it is 1 metre shorter than the GR Yaris. However, the creators of this modified iQ have fitted Work wheels with a perfect fitment, along with much more muscular side skirts and wheel arches, which perfectly replicate the side profile of its big brother.
At the rear, the Yaris Jr also features the same rear lights and a very sporty rear bumper and diffuser, which, despite giving the whole car a great sense of width, does not quite match that of the renowned GR Yaris.

An interior of another level
Having finished with the exterior, this little creation features bucket seats fixed to the floor, a sports steering wheel signed by Momo, and new instrumentation, perfect for giving the driver all the information about engine temperatures and operation, which, curiously, is located behind the seats.
The engine fitted to the Yaris Jr comes from none other than a Kawasaki ZX-14R motorcycle. An engine that produces an incredible 211 CV and 154 Nm of maximum torque, ideal for catapulting the most radical Toyota IQ in the world.
