The popular Japanese compact SUV gets new features in its range, with new trim levels, equipment and more options in its colour palette

The B-SUV segment is one of the most competitive markets right now, thanks to its appeal as a concept: these are vehicles that work very well in the city, with more than adequate interior space, and without losing their SUV capabilities, so we can tackle a dirt track without risking damage to the underbody.

Toyota’s bet is the Yaris Cross Electric Hybrid, a car we have already tested and about which we tell you our impressions. It now receives an update for 2023, with new trim levels and more colour options in its configurator.

The range for 2023

Starting with the range of the new Toyota Yaris Cross 2023, it is now offered with six equipment levels: Business Plus, Active Tech, Style, Style Plus, Adventure and Adventure Plus. The Premiere Edition trim is replaced by the latter, as it was a special edition created exclusively as a launch edition.

As in its previous range, Toyota continues to keep the same drivetrain layout across its trims: the 4×2 versions are reserved for the Style, Style Plus, Active Tech and Business Plus trims, while the all-wheel-drive AWD-i system is available only on the Adventure and Adventure Plus trims.

This latest variant with the all-wheel-drive system is one of the models with the most new features. In addition to the two-tone bodywork option we already had, it adds the possibility of choosing a single-tone body, and it debuts the new Spicy Orange colour with a roof in Eclipse Black, which, combined with the 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels in dark grey, makes it the boldest version of the model.

For now, and based on what we have been able to see from its configurator, the Yaris Cross Adventure 2023 is only on sale in the Polish market, although it will soon be available in the rest of the European markets, including Spain, where the Toyota Yaris is the best-selling vehicle of the brand.

Generous equipment

The Yaris Cross Adventure, as revealed by Toyota, will come with generous standard equipment, among which we highlight roof bars, leather upholstery with gold stitching, the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with a 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with maps, and the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 active safety system. In addition, among its optional extras you can fit a panoramic roof with sunshade, a 10-inch colour Head-Up Display, or adaptive headlights with Matrix LED technology, among others.

The powertrain will be the same one already found across the whole Yaris Cross range, which, as a reminder, produces 116 CV of power thanks to the combination of its 1.0-litre combustion engine and the HEV system, which adds a small electric motor and a battery.

As for prices, the Yaris Cross starts at 25,600 euros for the entry-level Business Plus version and rises to 33,600 euros if you opt for the top-of-the-range Adventure Plus trim.
