The upcoming Mercedes-AMG A 45 makes no attempt to hide at the gates of the Nürburgring
The upcoming Mercedes-AMG A 45 has just made an appearance at the gates of the Nürburgring, where it was on display under heavy camouflage.

When Mercedes-Benz launches a new model onto the market, it generates great anticipation, since many enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the AMG variants. This is the case with the fourth generation of the A-Class, which already offers the AMG 35 among its options but is still waiting for the 45 to arrive to provide an even more radical combination. Although the star brand has not yet given dates for the arrival of its most powerful compact, there are several signs that lead us to believe it will be soon, such as the presence of a camouflaged Mercedes-AMG A 45 at the gates of the Nürburgring.
Under the name “Concept Drift” lies what promises to be one of the fastest compacts of all time. Just as happened a few months ago when the A 45 was seen driving on snow and referencing its Drift Mode, this time we find a car completely camouflaged but which still lets us distinguish certain aspects compared to the more restrained A 35.
A design in the purest AMG style
AMG’s latest strategy has been to launch different power and performance levels within the same model. With this premise, we can find not only the A 35 or the CLS 53, but also the 63 and 63 S, which will also happen with the A 45, a model that is being prepared to offer significant improvements in its engine and in its styling.

The already characteristic Panamericana grille makes its appearance, dominating the front of the Mercedes-AMG A 45, seeking to offer a more grotesque and imposing look. The rear produces the same sensation, where a spoiler of considerable dimensions and a diffuser headed by a quad exhaust outlet make it clear that this is not an ordinary A-Class.
More than 400 CV that can be sent to the rear axle
A few weeks ago, Mercedes-AMG showed us the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the world, which will be used to power the A 45 in its two variants. In this way, we would have a base version capable of producing 387 CV of power, a figure that rises to 421 CV if you choose the A 45 S.
The 500 Nm of torque this powerplant can deliver will also be vital in making the new A 45 the most radical of all time. But this effect will be sweetened by the possibility of sending all the power to the rear wheels, turning the star’s compact into a true drifting machine.
