Pick-ups are a type of vehicle that is enjoying increasing popularity, as many buyers looking for better off-road mobility choose this type of vehicle over traditional off-road vehicles. They feature all-wheel drive, power and load capacity to tackle any type of terrain with ease. The Volkswagen Amarok has been named International Pick-up 2018, but the German manufacturer has gone one step further and offers an even more spectacular finish thanks to a special edition.

This is called Dark Label, and like everything that usually carries this kind of name, it raises the vehicle’s status to significant levels and introduces some very striking aesthetic changes. The body colour stands out above all, a metallic grey called Carbon Steel, which, together with some dark styling details such as the external mirror caps, door handles and rear bumper. The Dark Label logo and 18-inch Rawson alloy wheels can also be seen.

Although the special edition’s name is Dark Label, it is also available in two other body colours, Deep Black Pearl and Matte Indium Grey. Inside the cabin there are also details that complement the exterior of the model. To start with, there is Alcantara upholstery, a black roof, chrome ventilation grilles and specific floor mats for this more refined version.

From here on, the equipment is identical to that of the new generation Volkswagen Amarok. This includes the Discover Media infotainment system, controlled by a 6.3-inch touchscreen, power-folding heated side mirrors, automatic lights and wipers, among other features. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 201 CV and 500 Nm sends power to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Volkswagen has already started taking orders for this version, which it says will be limited to around 200 units, although it has not specified the exact number.
