The Volkswagen Amarok receives more power in the 3.0 V6 TDI, up to 272 CV with overboost function

This new version, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, reaches the market with the intention of competing with its toughest rivals in the market and with an eye on the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the model it matches in terms of power delivery.

Volkswagen has improved the already known mechanics, making them deliver 34 CV more power and 30 Nm more torque at maximum compared with the version of this same engine it previously fitted in its pick-up. This output is even surpassed thanks to the overboost function included in the model, which allows it to temporarily access an additional 14 CV, bringing the total to 272 CV, and a further 30 Nm, for a total of 580 Nm.

In the Amarok, the upgraded V6 3.0 TDI engine comes as standard, coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and in combination with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

This new variant is developed from the Aventura Exclusive version that Volkswagen showed at the past Geneva Motor Show, and is also offered with the most complete trim in the pick-up range, the Highline. Externally, the Amarok V6 3.0 TDI features bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, static cornering lights, electrically folding mirrors, rain sensor, high-beam assist, as well as attractive Titanium Black inserts on the roof and pillars, Nappa leather seats and a range of exclusive 20″ alloy wheels also finished in black.

The new version of the pick-up does not yet have a release date in the main European markets, although in Germany the brand’s dealerships are already taking orders from 51,384 euros for the Highline trim and 58,072 for the Aventura variant.
