We are used to seeing drag races between the Bugatti Veyron and the Nissan GT-R, the Lamborghini Aventador and the McLaren MP4-12C, but gathering some of the most exclusive and fastest supercars in the world is a challenge well worth the effort.
In this exotic showdown, the magazine Automobile has dared to bring together four of the fastest carbon-fibre supercars in the world in the United States to find out who is the king of kings in the quarter mile on an airport runway.
The contenders are the all-powerful 16-cylinder Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, the new V12 housed in the heart of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, the V10 of the Lexus LFA, and the twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder of the McLaren MP4-12C.
