These are three cheaper alternatives to the Toyota GR Supra
Are you thinking of buying a Toyota Supra but find it too expensive? Don’t worry, today we offer you 3 similar and cheaper alternatives.

The automotive world waited 17 years for the return of one of the most acclaimed vehicles of all time, the Toyota Supra. After this hibernation period, the Japanese firm finally dared to take that step, through which it managed to give new life to its sports car par excellence. However, the 69,900 euros that Toyota asks for the new Supra have not been well received by many of its admirers, and that is why today we offer you three alternatives to the Japanese sports car that are cheaper and of similar caliber.
It is true that when the fourth generation of the Supra was still in production, the price its customers had to pay was not too different from the current one. But the automotive sector has evolved in many ways, which is why today there are countless sports cars on the market, thus giving their potential buyers a wide range of options.
Porsche 718 Cayman
From Germany comes one of the main rivals of the Toyota Supra, the Porsche 718 Cayman. It is true that its entry variant has less power than the Japanese car, but the tuning of its chassis, the option of pairing it with a manual gearbox and its lower price make it a very option worth considering.

Inside the 718 Cayman lies a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine capable of producing 300 CV and 380 Nm of torque. These figures are transmitted directly to the rear axle and allow the Stuttgart sports car to reach 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds -4.7 if equipped with the Sport Chrono package- and a top speed of 275 km/h.
Its starting price is set at an attractive 62,103 euros, exactly 7,797 less than the Toyota Supra, an amount that will give us a wide margin to add options or to set aside for the maintenance and care of the 718 Cayman.
Alpine A110
Over time, we have seen other highly regarded brands rise from their ashes, with Alpine being a clear example of this. The French firm set out to offer the contemporary automotive world a faithful reinterpretation of the A110, one of the most acclaimed and idolized models of all time, which in its current version can be considered a strong rival to both the Supra and the 718 Cayman.

It is true that the Alpine A110 comes with a lower power range than the Japanese sports car, but both models are capable of exuding that living-legend spirit that we love so much. However, we must not forget that mysterious Alpine that was spotted a few days ago at the Nürburgring, which could be hiding a significant increase in horsepower.
Meanwhile, the French sports car will treat us to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of delivering 252 CV and 320 Nm of torque. To access these performance figures, it will be necessary to pay 58,500 euros, a very tempting figure that tips the balance in its favor.
Ford Mustang GT
For many years we Europeans begged Ford to give us the opportunity to buy a Mustang without having to resort to importing it, but it wasn’t until 2015 that the oval-badged firm heard our prayers. It is true that, conceptually, the muscle car is quite far from the Toyota Supra and the other two competitors mentioned here, but its excellent price-to-power ratio obliges us to include it on the list.

The arrival of the Ford Mustang in the European continent caused a furor, provoking a fervent reception reflected in the countless occasions on which the American car has been awarded as the best-selling sports car in the world. This was partly possible thanks to the brand’s clever strategy to conquer the old continent, which was fundamentally based on offering two engines: the acclaimed 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and a more restrained -but equally sporty- four-cylinder EcoBoost.
Today, we enjoy the presence of a Mustang renewed in various aesthetic and dynamic aspects but that remains faithful to its essence. With this premise, among its options we still find an immense naturally aspirated V8 engine that will delight us with 450 CV and 529 Nm of torque, figures that can be at our command for 49,850 euros.
