This is a sketch of the future McLaren BP23
It won’t reach the roads until 2019. We still have to wait to see its finished design, but we can already get an idea thanks to this sketch.

Talking about the future McLaren BP23 is like talking about history, since it will revive certain features of the legendary McLaren F1, a car that left its mark with its technology from the early 90s on both the roads and the racetracks. Now it will be reincarnated in the BP23 with current technology, and at last we can make out its lines thanks to the sketch released by McLaren.
But unlike the McLaren F1, which was a great success in circuit competitions, the BP23 is a hypercar that will not be designed for that purpose. Instead, it will be a model that will raise luxury in this type of car to levels never seen before, as it is a car built entirely by hand from start to finish by McLaren Special Operations and fully customisable by its future owners. Always with the aim that its users feel they are inside a completely unique car.
Its codename BP23 will not be the definitive one, but this nomenclature has a meaning for McLaren and gives an idea of how special the project is for the Woking brand. BP stands for Bespoke Project; the number 2 indicates that this is the second project by McLaren Special Operations since the F1; and the number 3 represents the number of seats it will have (another nod to the McLaren F1).
But this will not be the only nod to the F1, since, just as with that car, its production will be limited to a scarce, and very sought-after, 106 units. For all these units, future owners will work hand in hand with McLaren Special Operations, selecting the exterior and interior colours, the materials to be used for the finishes, and many other personalisation details.
Finally, we should remind you that the McLaren BP23 will feature a hybrid propulsion system, an engine it will presumably inherit from the recently presented 720S, though logically modified to deliver more power and make it the most powerful car McLaren has ever built. It will also feature novel solutions, such as the automatic opening of gullwing doors.
Its launch will not take place until 2019, so McLaren will release information drip by drip, as it has accustomed us to.
