Toyota bZ4X GR Sport Concept: the first electric GR sees the light
The 100% electric SUV from Toyota has just unveiled its sportiest version in collaboration with Gazoo Racing at the Tokyo Motor Show. Will it become a reality?

The Tokyo Motor Show 2022 has been one of the most recent automotive events, where we have seen major launches such as the latest novelties from Subaru, from Lexus, from Honda, or curious creations such as the Toyota IQ, which was born with the aim of becoming a GR Yaris.
With all this going on, Toyota could not be left out, so it has presented its new Toyota bZ4X GR Sport Concept. A prototype that shows us the new fully electric SUV from the Japanese brand, though bringing out its more aggressive side thanks to the people at Gazoo Racing.
Exclusive details that add a sporty edge
Like its sibling from another brand, the Subaru Solterra STI Concept, the new bZ4X GR features an exclusive dark blue paint finish, which, combined with the black wheel arch trims and its bumpers and rocker panels, gives it a genuinely striking appearance.
Much of the credit for this goes to its new alloy wheels, painted in glossy black and of large size, which, besides visually planting the new SUV more firmly on the road, add the touch of edge the standard model lacks.

Inside as well, although Toyota has not offered any detailed images, it has said that more sporty seats have been fitted, in the style of those already seen in the Toyota C-HR GR Sport, which besides offering better support look much better aesthetically.
Powertrain not confirmed
As for the mechanics, there has been no information either, so we assume that, at the very least, the most powerful version of the bZ4X will be fitted, with 271 CV and 460 km of maximum range.
Although it has not been confirmed that this GR Sport variant will reach the streets, it would be quite feasible given the recent Toyota models that have joined the GR family, such as the Hilux, the C-HR, or the popular Yaris.
