Two hand-painted Bugatti Chirons: five weeks of work for an exceptional result

The Bugatti Chirons are not only exceptional vehicles, but they also offer a wide range of personalization options. Among some of these options are body colors and special finishes to make that paint exclusive. This is what the buyer of these two units of the model chose, which have received a specific finish to make them unique and spectacular.

The work took five weeks to complete and was carried out by the brand’s personalization department. This department ensures that each of the Bugatti that leaves the factory bound for its owners has everything the buyer has requested. The results, you can see in the image gallery.

Two exclusive finishes

The paintwork of both cars has been presented so the buyer can see how they look and so the rest of us can see the final result of this work. The first car is a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, painted in California Blue. On this base, a wave design has been applied to simulate orange light waves. Bugatti calls this color Arancia Mira.

The design is called Vagues de Lumière, which in French means waves of light. This pattern makes it look as though light is reflecting off the bodywork and creates a sense of movement.

The other version of the car that the buyer took home is a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. This one has a more subtle exterior decoration, although it features similar stripes. The base is also blue, while the lines are painted in black, highlighting the play of light across the bodywork.

The precision with which this technique has been used makes it difficult to tell where the contrast paint begins and where the natural shadows that shape the play of light end. To achieve this effect, the professionals at Bugatti apply the 2D shape over the 3D model and gradually, layer by layer, shape the design.

This is how the right light effect is created. Once this is achieved, a new layer is applied, in this case transparent. Once the painting process is finished and what the customer requested has been created, the customer is invited to see the final result and can then receive the order to enjoy it at home.
