Two new camper van proposals from the United States for living the outdoor adventure

The craze for camper vans is growing, and not only in Europe. There are more and more models that appeal to those who prefer to enjoy their holidays outdoors, living an adventure and stopping wherever suits them best, which is why there are increasingly more converters transforming vans into this type of motorhome. One of the new proposals we have come across comes from the United States, where the tuner Storyteller Overland has worked on a camper kit for the Mercedes Sprinter and the Ford Transit, two classic commercial vehicles for this type of conversion.

The transformation of these two models has been carried out so that they can be both everyday vehicles and leisure vans, ready for long journeys. The capabilities of the Mercedes Sprinter and the Ford Transit are similar and allow them to be worked on comfortably to build these camping versions. The kit used not only equips both models with everything needed to spend the night and enjoy the trip, but also includes an energy kit to have electricity during the nights.

The 9 kW Live Free OGT energy system has been developed by Volta Power Systems and consists of a lithium-ion battery pack that supplies power to both models when they are disconnected from the mains. Its output is sufficient to power a low-level air conditioning unit overnight without the need for electricity generators in the vehicle or having the engine running.

Among the equipment of both models we can find a folding shower, which can be used both inside and outside and is called Halo. Another novelty is the Flex Space multipurpose bench, which can serve as the shower floor, a storage area or a hidden rear cargo cooler. The DreamWeaver folding bench is also a folding bed, and they include a second folding bench that converts into a bed for three seats, making it very comfortable to travel and sleep in these Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit converted into motorhomes.
