Up for sale at an outrageous price: the BMW Series 7 once owned by Tupac

The BMW 750iL that once belonged to Tupac and became the scene of a crime is up for sale for more than one million euros.

Speculation and the automotive sector have always been closely linked, something we can see in collector’s pieces, special editions or certain historic vehicles. Today we bring you the case of a BMW Series 7 from the E38 range, a model that, under normal resale conditions, should not exceed four figures today. But this does not apply to the unit we are looking at today, which not only stands out for being a long-wheelbase 750i, but also for having belonged to the acclaimed rapper Tupac and having been, in a way, his coffin.

It was in 1996 when Lesane Parish Crooks, better known as Tupac, was driving his BMW 750iL on his way to a club. Suddenly, while stopped at a traffic light, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside the German saloon and opened fire, causing the acclaimed rapper to be rushed to hospital where, after undergoing major surgery, he died.

24 years later, the BMW once owned by Tupac is going on sale with a tragic and dark story behind it. And although the German saloon has been restored down to the smallest detail, it has still witnessed that bloodbath that took place in September 1996.

A Las Vegas dealership has taken charge of selling the BMW Series 7 that once belonged to Tupac. Besides having removed every trace of the shooting, they have also made sure the interior is spotless, as if it had left the Bavarian factory only yesterday. The only detail that points to the rapper, besides having been his, is the wheels, which are exactly the same as those Tupac once fitted.

Setting aside the main point of this particular unit, we find a glorious 5.4-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 326 CV and 490 Nm of torque. These figures allowed this luxury saloon from BMW to reach 100 km/h in a not inconsiderable 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

As we have mentioned, under normal circumstances we would be talking about a relatively affordable contemporary purchase price, but the truth is this unit is priced above one million euros. That’s right, the admiration generated by Tupac and the morbid curiosity that may arise in some wealthy fan have led this dealership to put the BMW Series 7 750iL we are looking at today up for sale at 1,750,000 dollars, or in other words, 1.57 million euros.
