Velantur, the Spanish electric concept car to be presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show
The Velantur is the first fully electric concept car designed and developed in Spain, which will go on sale during 2017 and whose first two prototypes are already testing on Spanish roads to refine its design and performance

As strange as it may seem, and more typical of other countries, Spain is succeeding in building a solid industry of special cars that break the mould and represent the most exciting side of the automotive industry. We have seen it with the GTA Spano, a supercar that is stirring passions around the world, but also with the Velantur, an electric car destined to be a concept car that will draw the eyes of the whole world at the next Geneva Motor Show 2016.
About 18 months have passed since this adventure of the Spanish company began, and the first two prototypes of this electric model, which will be manufactured in Spain and sold in several international markets from 2017, are now ready. They promise a considerable range of 400 km and performance equivalent to models equipped with combustion engines offering 180 CV, something considerable that will allow it to achieve considerable acceleration and top-speed figures.
The Velantur, in numbers
According to the company, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 8 seconds from a standstill, thanks to the lithium-ion batteries that store the energy and allow it to stay on the move for a considerable time. It also features two types of charging, slow and fast, so the batteries can be at 100% capacity in just 30 minutes.

The brand’s managers are keeping a few aces up their sleeve. They did not want to tell us exactly what technology lies under the bonnet or inside the cabin, although they do assure us that it is innovative and that it will surprise us. As for the styling, it can be seen in detail in the images accompanying this article and in the video.
What we do know is that the version to be put on sale will have 2+2 seats and a three-door configuration. For now there are no further details or information about the price. We hope they will tell us more soon, and that we can tell you more about this innovative vehicle that comes from a Spanish company.
