Volkswagen accelerates its pace with the upcoming addition of 10 new SUVs for the Chinese market
Volkswagen presents itself as a brand with a resounding success in China, a market where it will add 10 new SUV models, and the I.D family will arrive in 2020.

Market expansion is an issue that concerns all brands, and many of them use it as a commercial strategy with the aim of increasing their sales and bringing their product to more parts of the world. Although several companies have a small thorn in their side for not yet having access to various regions, Volkswagen is ahead in the Chinese market. The German firm has been working shoulder to shoulder with Asia for years and has no intention whatsoever of stopping now.
The presentation of the new Volkswagen Touareg in Beijing has not been a coincidence, since the brand has a large number of customers who have a predilection for the most luxurious models in its range, with SUVs among their favorites. With this premise, the German company aims to keep increasing its presence in China, something it plans to achieve with a considerable increase in models in the country.
Volkswagen can boast of dominating the Chinese market, something it achieves thanks to the 3.2 million vehicles it delivered over the last year. Much of the firm’s success is due to the constant push of its star models and, at the same time, to the introduction of certain vehicles exclusive to China. However, Volkswagen has noticed that its most loyal customers also show a great fondness for off-road vehicles, so SUVs will end up landing in Asia in an even more forceful way.

The firm plans to strengthen its relationship with China even further through the introduction of 10 new SUV models by 2020, a strategy that has been decided upon because statistics predict that one in every two cars sold in the country will be a crossover. Having sold nearly 400,000 SUVs from Volkswagen during 2017, the brand has decided to continue this evolution, in which the new Touareg is a pioneer.
The most luxurious off-roader from the German firm shares the market with the Tiguan and the Teramont, two models that have been very well received during their commercial life, and the Touareg intends to establish itself in the same way. However, expanding the SUV range is not the only novelty from the firm, since technology will also be present across all its models, especially when it comes to hybridisation and electrification.

Volkswagen plans to launch a plug-in hybrid variant of the Tiguan this year and, at the same time, the 100% electric Bora. These two vehicles will not be alone for long, since the firm will bring the I.D family to life, presenting it in China in 2020, a range of vehicles that will cover all the segments with which Volkswagen works.
