Volkswagen Arteon R-Line Performance: only 80 units, from €43,000

Volkswagen launches the Arteon R-Line Performance edition, limited to 80 units and available with TSI engines of 190 and 272 CV.

A great opportunity to enjoy the saloon you’ve always dreamed of: coupé-like styling, sporty looks, comfortable for long journeys and at the same time powerful enough to make you feel you’re driving a “special” car.

We’re talking about the new Volkswagen Arteon R-Line Performance, a special edition of the Arteon focused on design elements and additional equipment to enhance the look and the dynamic behaviour of this German coupé-style saloon.

Only 80 units, with comprehensive equipment

The exclusivity also comes from the 80 units going on sale, with a starting price of 43,000 euros.

For example, the Arteon R-Line Performance features elements that cannot be chosen even as an option on the rest of the range, such as the two-tone finish with the bodywork in grey and the roof in black. The 20-inch wheels in gloss black are also exclusive.

For the interior, Volkswagen has chosen an exclusive Nappa Carbon leather upholstery. The winter pack, with heated seats also in the rear seats, is standard equipment, as is the interior ambient lighting system. Other standard features include Park Assist, lane change assist, LED headlights with dynamic lights, the Discover Pro infotainment system with a 9.2-inch screen, and keyless entry and start.

Two petrol engines, with 4Motion all-wheel drive available

The VW Arteon R-Line Performance can be chosen with two mechanical versions. On one hand, the 2.0 TSI petrol with 190 CV. For those who find this fantastic engine not enough, above it sits the 272 CV version, paired with 4Motion all-wheel drive. Both come as standard with the DSG7 seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

As for the chassis, the R-Line Performance models include DCC adaptive suspension with adjustable dampers, which change their setup from softer and more comfortable to more sporty, depending on the driving mode selected. The ESC, with software adapted for this special series, can be switched off completely, as on the rest of Volkswagen’s R models.
