ID.4 Volkswagen Electric Cars Geneva Motor Show SUV
Volkswagen ID.4, this is the new electric SUV with a range of more than 500 km
The new Volkswagen ID.4 will have a range of more than 500 km and will enter production this same year.

The new Volkswagen ID.4 begins production this same year. The new member of the German brand’s electrified family will offer up to 500 kilometres of range fully electric. This figure is possible thanks to aerodynamics and efficiency.
The Volkswagen ID.4 is an evolution of the concept called Volkswagen ID. Crozz and is developed on the Group’s modular electric drive platform, MEB. Following the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show, the brand wanted to unveil its new electric SUV.

Ralf Brandstätter, Chief Operating Officer of the Volkswagen brand, has stated that “just like the Volkswagen ID.3, the Volkswagen ID.4 will also reach the market as a carbon-neutral vehicle”. “We will produce and sell the ID.4 in Europe, China and the United States”.
The Chief Operating Officer also wanted to point out that “the vehicle’s outstanding aerodynamics reduce the drag coefficient and will increase the range of the ID.4 up to 500 kilometres, depending on the battery”.

Volkswagen ID.4, this is the new electric SUV from the German brand
The new Volkswagen ID.4 will be rear-wheel drive, although a four-wheel-drive version is planned to reach the market. In the centre of the vehicle, specifically in the floor, a high-voltage battery is located. In this way, the centre of gravity will be lower and driving dynamics will be optimised. In addition, the load will also be distributed evenly around the axle.
The new fully electric SUV offers generous interior space, although no images of the interior have been published. The driver’s position is dominated by an intuitive and well-structured digital instrument cluster.

It is important to highlight that the new member of the German brand’s ID. family, the Volkswagen ID.4, will be manufactured and sold imminently in Europe, China and the United States. As for the price, no exact figures have been given so far, but if we take the Volkswagen ID.3 with its 125 CV engine and 45 kWh battery as an example, it would be around 30,000 euros. Based on the Volkswagen ID.4’s specifications, the ideal choice would be, at a minimum, a version with a 58 kWh battery, which would bring the model to around 41,000 euros.
The new Volkswagen ID.4 is not the only electrified model the German automotive group is working on. The brand is going to invest more than 1,000 million euros, and the Volkswagen ID.3 and Volkswagen ID.4 will be joined by the Volkswagen Touareg R and the Volkswagen Golf GTE, which will be powered by a new plug-in hybrid technology. We will have to wait a few more months to see any of these three new models up close.
