Volkswagen Lamando L: a very stylish sedan arriving in the Chinese market

Continuing with its launches in China, Volkswagen has just unveiled its Lamando L, a genuinely attractive saloon positioned below the Arteon

Only a few hours ago, we brought you the latest photographs of the 2022 Ford Mondeo, which will only be sold in China, as well as our protagonist, the new Volkswagen Lamando L, a sporty sedan whose first leaked images we saw this past summer, and which we can now finally see in full.

As you may have noticed, the Chinese market, unlike the European or American ones, demands saloon bodies far more than SUV bodies. That is why brands such as Volkswagen or Ford continue to bet on this type of format. But without straying further from the topic, let’s begin with the design of the new Lamando L.

Sporty and very attractive

First of all, the front of the new model features a large grille, headlight units with rounded shapes joined by a thin LED strip, and a bonnet with very pronounced creases, which give it a very aggressive and even mischievous look, since its grille resembles a rather cheeky smile.

Turning 90 degrees, the athletic saloon line, in the style of that of its big brother the Arteon, gives it, together with its new 16 to 18 inch alloy wheels, a subtly aggressive and very attractive appearance.

To finish with its exterior design, the rear of the Lamando L features LED taillights that run from one side to the other across the entire rear, with the Volkswagen logo illuminated as well, beneath which the model name has been inserted. Likewise, its rear bumper has a silver-coloured trim that acts as fake exhaust outlets, along with fairly clean lines.

Technological and with two engine options

Once inside, the new Lamando L has a large digital instrument cluster display linked to its infotainment system, creating a very high-tech ambience without an overload of unnecessary buttons, undoubtedly recalling the new Golf 8.

Under the bonnet, Volkswagen offers two different engines. The first is a 1.4 TSI 150 CV petrol engine paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, and the other is a 2.0 TSI 220 CV engine paired with the same gearbox as the less powerful variant.
