Volvo announces its 2026 electric model lineup for the North American market
With new models and improvements to existing ones, Volvo reinforces its commitment to electric mobility in North America.
The North American division of Volvo has unveiled its renewed range of electric vehicles for 2026, highlighting the implementation of major technological innovations and the arrival of new models with this propulsion system. Among the main novelties is the adoption of a new 800-volt electrical architecture by the EX90 SUV, along with the introduction of new versions of the EX30 with a single electric motor and Cross Country.
The Volvo EX90, the brand’s flagship, debuts an 800-volt electrical architecture with all the advantages this entails, including the higher power it supports when charging with direct current, which will allow this premium electric SUV to increase its range by up to 250 km in just 10 minutes.

This technology, moreover, will not only reach the EX90 but will also appear, as we have already reported here on HighMotor in previous posts, in models from other brands of the Geely group that also use the SPA2 platform, such as the Polestar 3. In addition, owners of a 2025 EX90 in this market will be able to upgrade to the new Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chip at no additional cost, thereby achieving a significant improvement in the performance of driver assistance systems thanks to its greater processing capacity.
EX30 Single Motor and Cross Country
On the other hand, the EX30 with a single electric motor arrives for the first time in the North American market, following its success in Europe. This compact SUV offers an estimated EPA range of up to 420 km and is capable of increasing its state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes. In the United States, this model will have a base price of 38,950 dollars with the Plus trim level, positioning it as an attractive option for all potential customers looking for an efficient and affordable compact electric SUV.
Likewise, another notable addition to the manufacturer’s electric lineup is the EX30 Cross Country, presented in February 2025. This variant, with a more robust, adventure-oriented design, features two electric motors with a combined output of 315 kW, providing all-wheel drive. Equipped with a battery pack with a net capacity of 64 kWh, this model is capable of covering around 427 km on a single charge, under the EPA homologation cycle.

Among its technical specifications, it is worth highlighting, moreover, its ability to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds. When charging with direct current it supports a maximum power of 153 kW, and it also has an internal 22 kW charger for AC charging using a wallbox.
The Volvo EX30 Cross Country will be available in this market only in the Twin Motor Ultra version, with a base price of 48,150 dollars in the United States.
