Model Y Tesla Electric Cars SUV
The new Tesla Model Y Standard 2026 is already on sale in Spain from €39,990
The new Tesla Model Y Standard combines a competitive price with class-leading efficiency and more than enough range. This makes it a very attractive option for everyone looking to make the leap to electric mobility but working with a tight budget.
It hasn’t been long to wait for the new Model Y Standard 2026 to also become available in Europe, after Tesla announced its availability for the North American market. Just three days later, the most affordable version of the brand’s most popular SUV is already available on the manufacturer’s website configurator in the main European countries, including Spain.
Built at the Gigafactory in Grünheide, near Berlin in Germany, this model reaches the market with the aim of bringing electric mobility to a larger number of European drivers by making it more accessible. With a base price of €39,990 in Spain, this model represents a saving of 10 thousand euros compared with the next version up in the manufacturer’s range, now called Premium Rear-Wheel Drive.

The new Model Y Standard stands out for its energy efficiency, with an average consumption of 13.1 kWh per 100 km, which makes it the most efficient version, with a range not far off that of the Premium Rear-Wheel Drive version, despite having a battery pack of smaller capacity. Tesla promises a WLTP range for the new Model Y Standard of 534 km, compared with 622 km for the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive.
Built entirely at the Grünheide plant, the Model Y Standard 2026 is already in production, with the intention that the first deliveries in the European market, and also in Spain, will take place next November, or December in the worst case.
The European Model Y Standard 2026 comes with a surprise that drivers across the continent will surely appreciate
The ten thousand euro saving on this entry-level version of the Model Y means giving up some features found on the higher versions. However, if you read the previous post we published in which we mentioned the limitations of this version for the North American market, the good news is that in Spain and the rest of Europe these restrictions do not affect one of its main software capabilities.
For €39,990, the new Model Y Standard offers adequate performance for everyday use, being able to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 7.1 seconds. It comes as standard in Stealth Grey paint, with the option of two other colours, Pearl White Multi-Coat and Diamond Black, costing an additional €1,300 for the last two.

An important difference compared with the model for the North American market is that the European Model Y Standard 2026 is only offered with 18-inch wheels, whereas on the other side of the pond it comes as standard with the same 18-inch wheels, but optionally 19-inch Crossflow wheels can also be chosen for an additional $1,500.
The differences with the model for the North American market don’t end there. Excellent news for European buyers of the Model Y Standard 2026 is that they will not have to give up basic Autopilot, which is included as standard, unlike the North American model. There is also the option to equip the vehicle, like any other Tesla, with Enhanced Autopilot for an additional €3,800, or with Full Self-Driving capability for €7,500 more.

Following the update to the available Model Y versions in Europe, we are waiting for the same to happen with the Model 3, just as it has happened in North America. In this regard, it should be borne in mind that the Model 3 sold in Europe comes from the company’s Chinese plant in Shanghai, so we will have to wait for production to start at this plant before Tesla announces its availability in Europe too.
