Adam Levine and the Mission E prototype Porsche go for a ride around the track

Porsche wanted to give singer Adam Levine a great opportunity: taking the wheel of the Mission E Concept on the track.

Prototypes usually feature a series of elements that belong to the future, where technology and design come together to give us a preview of what we may see tomorrow. Porsche has always known how to showcase its creations to the world with subtlety, something it did with the Mission E Concept, a vehicle that showed the first steps of the German brand in the category of electric sports cars. Over time, Porsche has been showing us progress on the production model and, although they have already driven it, the brand wanted to give singer Adam Levine the opportunity to take the wheel of the prototype.

Adam Levine is not only passionate about music, but also about the world of motoring, as he demonstrates with his impressive car collection. However, the Maroon 5 singer keeps his most prized gem under lock and key, a 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster, known as one of the most beautiful and sought-after Porsche models today. Even so, Adam could not resist the proposal made to him by the German brand.

Porsche approached the American singer to offer him the chance to take the wheel of the Mission E Concept, a vehicle that will always be kept in the care of the brand. After this, Adam decided to visit the test center located in Los Angeles to experience what it feels like not only aboard an electric sports saloon, but also driving a prototype that will not be on public roads.

The Mission E was unveiled to the world in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, an event where it captured all eyes. Porsche made its clear intentions known to go beyond the hybrid models that form part of its range, and to take the leap into electric technology, something it will do with the production Mission E. However, the brand not only showed its technological advances, but also gave us a glimpse of the future design it would apply to its upcoming creations.

Regarding the mechanics, the Mission E Concept uses several batteries that act as propulsion units, giving it performance that surpasses that of many combustion-engined vehicles. To be more specific, the electric saloon from Porsche has two motors, one at the front and one at the rear, whose combination delivers a total output of 600 CV and allows it to reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds , with a top speed of over 250 km/h.

Adam Levine has been one of the few lucky people able to touch and experience first-hand the future that Porsche wants to bring us closer to. In this way, the Mission E will become the first 100% electric Porsche in history, which arrives to offer a perfect combination of efficiency and sportiness, and it will reach the market very soon.
