After starting production, the BMW iX3 arrives in Spain and announces its price
With production already underway, the BMW iX3 is making its way to various markets, and now it is Spain’s turn, where it has already revealed its price

At the start of October, BMW announced the start of production of the BMW iX3, a new member of the “i” family of fully electric vehicles from the Bavarian brand, a manufacturing process which, incidentally, is being carried out exclusively for the whole world in Shenyang, China. Little by little it is reaching the various markets and, now, it finally makes its landing in Spain, where it is already possible to order it at the brand’s dealership network.
The new BMW iX3 will not represent an aesthetic revolution typical of a new model, since it draws directly from the lines of its combustion-engined siblings, the X3, although it has its own differences aimed at achieving greater aerodynamic efficiency, incidentally recording an aerodynamic drag coefficient of Cx of 0.29. In this way we see how, on the exterior, it adopts a grille with the classic closed kidneys and aerodynamic alloy wheels that are 19 inches as standard, optionally 20 inches, along with various aesthetic details in electric blue and the logical absence of the exhaust line.

Inside the BMW iX3 is where we find the greatest similarity to the X3, as it is practically identical except for the electric blue details applied to the selector lever, the exterior of the BMW logo on the steering wheel and the start button, not forgetting the instrumentation with specific information relating to the battery and its consumption, available charge, efficiency… For everything else, any future owner of an BMW iX3 can be certain that they will benefit from all the technological, safety and driver-assistance equipment we would find in an X3.
But the great asset of the BMW iX3 lies under its bonnet, where there is a fully electric system capable of delivering a power output of 286 CV together with a maximum torque of 400 Nm, which is sent to the rear axle and, in addition, allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. It should be noted that, as it is electric, it emits barely any noise, so the BMW iX3 will debut a new sound dedicated to the brand’s electric models, created in collaboration with Hans Zimmer and available within the optional Impressive package, which delivers an impressive sound that reproduces the starting and stopping of the motor.

Working with this powertrain is the 74 kWh lithium-ion battery located between both axles, which improves both the centre of gravity and the weight distribution, and with which we will have a maximum range of up to 458 km according to the WLTP test cycle. Once the battery is depleted, we can use charging points of up to 150 kW, allowing us to reach 80% of its capacity in 34 minutes or have a range of nearly 100 km in just 10 minutes.
The new BMW iX3 is now available to order at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, with a price starting from 72,300 euros.
