Audi and ABT join forces once again to create a faster and more aggressive A4

Audi and ABT have once again worked together to bring to life a more radical and sporty A4. This time, they have turned to the 2.0 and 3.0 TDI and 2.0 TFSI engines

Not long ago, vehicle tuning was reserved for the most exclusive models or for those equipped with one of the most powerful engines. However, companies such as ABT have sought to change that situation, and that is why practically any Audi A4 can now be modified by the German tuner. The quintessential saloon of the four rings has been handed over to ABT to receive a series of significant upgrades, which apply directly to three versions: one petrol and two diesel.

The Audi A4 is one of the most versatile vehicles in the German firm’s range, as it is characterised by offering a wide range of engine options. Should our dream be to buy an Audi S4 but our financial situation does not allow it, we can always give the A4 petrol and diesel a little fine-tuning courtesy of ABT.

The German tuner has decided to focus its efforts mainly on three of the engines most acclaimed by Audi A4 customers: the 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 and 3.0 TDI. Both powertrains are found in numerous units of the German firm’s favourite model, so ABT’s clientele could grow rapidly by opening its doors to owners of this vehicle.

As is customary, ABT has carried out a series of subtle aesthetic changes but has focused primarily on the mechanical side. The tuner has decided to offer its customers several power levels starting from the aforementioned engines, which are responsible for powering a large number of the Audi A4s sold worldwide.

On the one hand, we have the four-cylinder 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine. This petrol engine is found under the bonnet of numerous vehicles from the Volkswagen Group and is capable of producing 252 CV of power and 370 Nm of torque in the Audi A4. Thanks to ABT, the German saloon equipped with this engine can reach 330 CV and 440 Nm of torque. At the same time, the tuner pairs this power increase with an upgraded suspension, which is capable of lowering the bodywork by between 15 and 40 mm.

If we opt for the 2.0-litre diesel heart, the Audi A4 comes standard with 190 CV of power and 400 Nm of torque, figures that rise to 215 CV and 440 Nm of torque. If we choose to equip the four-ring saloon with the 3.0 TDI, we get 272 CV and 600 Nm of torque as standard. With ABT, we can enjoy a total output of 325 CV and an impressive 660 Nm of torque.

Visually, there are 20-inch alloy wheels and a new diffuser housing four exhaust outlets, which will enhance the soundtrack of the Audi A4. At the same time, the front has also been complemented by a new grille and several side air intakes, which provide a more aggressive look and match the new power level of the German saloon.
