BMW i3 Home Run, the special edition to say goodbye to the electric model

The compact electric model from BMW has completed its production run with a special edition called Home Run, limited to just 10 units.

For the past few years, the Leipzig plant has been manufacturing the electric BMW i3. This car has reached 250,000 units over this time and has now been discontinued. But before it disappears, the brand wants us to enjoy a special edition with just ten units that will mark the farewell of the model. It is the BMW i3 Home Run, and we are going to take a closer look at it.

This version is based on the BMW i3S, which has been finished in Frozen Dark Gray and Frozen Red II paint, both coming from the brand’s personalisation programme. It also features 20-inch twin-spoke wheels, while the sunroof can be adjusted electronically.

The interior has also been styled to suit this special edition. It has a Vernasca Dark Truffle upholstery, with the instrument panel covered in leather. The roof is also lined in leather, and there is a Carum Grey ambient lighting system.

The seats are heated and include the Distance Park Control system. Navigation is provided by the BMW Professional and the audio system is Harman Kardon Hi-Fi. All ten units of the BMW i3 Home Run have already sold out. And as an interesting fact, the brand allowed buyers to watch in person as their cars were assembled.

The price of these ten units has not been made public, but buyers already have them and will be able to enjoy the last BMW i3, with a special edition that makes a difference, even at the end of production.

The BMW i3S uses an engine that delivers 184 CV and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 6.9 seconds, and it offers three driving modes.
