Do you know the BMW M3 e36 Compact? BMW Group Classic presents it to us…

Only a few months remain until we meet one of the most revolutionary members of the BMW M family, which will arrive just as BMW M turns 50. Even so, the history of the BMW M is full of rarities and unique models that passionate drivers of the world’s most powerful letter keep in their memory. Now it is the turn of the BMW M3 e36 Compact, a one-of-a-kind example that BMW Group Classic has wanted to analyse.
The video published by BMW Group Classic tells the story of the BMW 3 Series e36 Compact but pays special tribute to the most powerful version of the range. A few weeks ago we showed you the story of the BMW M3 e36. Would you like to know a little more?

This is the BMW M3 e36 Compact
Under the bonnet, the BMW M3 e36 Compact has the same engine as the BMW M3 e36 Coupé Evo, the S50B32 unit, a six-cylinder inline engine capable of delivering 321 CV. However, the bodywork is 23 centimetres shorter than that of its siblings. The good news is that the overall weight was 150 kilograms lighter. These ingredients gave it better performance.

The look of the BMW M3 e36 Compact is far removed from that of conventional Compacts. This concept features a specific bumper with very pronounced air intakes, rounded wing mirrors, alloy wheels with a very distinctive design, a slightly modified boot lid, a small integrated spoiler and spectacular twin exhaust outlets.

Once inside, you can enjoy the Alcantara upholstery that predominates throughout the model; it begins on the steering wheel and continues through the gear lever to the seats, which are Recaro bucket seats designed to reduce the weight of this revolutionary concept. In the following video you can discover all the secrets of the BMW M3 e36 Compact.
