BMW signs an agreement with Rivian to improve its future electric cars
The Croatian brand is ready to start working alongside BMW to jointly advance the development of new electric models.

Electric mobility presents no small number of challenges for brands, both for veterans with decades in the market and for newer companies that have focused on developing this type of technology. BMW is well known and one of the most respected in the market. Rimac is one of the latter and one with one of the most interesting growth curves in today’s market.
It has now become known that both brands have signed a collaboration agreement to keep growing together in the electric car market, aiming to leverage, on the one hand, BMW’s experience in the market and, on the other, the cutting-edge technology offered by the Croatian company.

As strange as it may seem, the relationship between BMW and Rimac goes back a long way. In fact, the first electric traction powertrain designed by Mate Rimac, the company’s founder, was fitted to a BMW 3 Series E30. So it seems the circle is closing, and Rimac will be the one that will supply components for developing and manufacturing electric cars under the BMW Group umbrella.
There are no exact details about what this collaboration will concretely involve, although it is known that Rimac’s engineering division will manufacture batteries and other electric traction powertrain components for BMW, which will be destined for several models of this type the Bavarian brand is developing.
Apparently, these battery packs will be intended for specific models within the group, not all of them. These models are expected to correspond to high-end models from the BMW, Rolls Royce and MINI brands, although nothing has been detailed in this regard. The Rimac Technology division is separate from other branches of the group, such as Bugatti Rimac, and is responsible for designing, manufacturing and supplying other brands with the components needed to build electric vehicles using the technology they are developing.
