BMW X3 and X4 M Sport Edition, a very limited edition with an extra touch of aggressiveness
Limited to a production run of 40 units, the pair of Bavarian SUVs will only be available for the Japanese market, sporting a very sporty look

Just a few days ago, BMW showed us its latest special edition based on the 3 Series, boasting greater length and unrivalled comfort. This time, however, our protagonists come with an extra dose of spice that gives them the perfect amount of aggressiveness and are named BMW X3 and X4 M Sport Competition.
Like the aforementioned special edition based on the 3 Series, this special series will not be available in the European market either; it will only be sold in Japan, where only 40 units in total will arrive, split into 30 X3 units and the remaining 10 X4 units.
First of all, the first identifying feature of this new version is undoubtedly its bodywork finished in Frozen Deep Grey Matte Black. A matte black colour that accentuates the curves and sharp lines of both SUVs.
As their name suggests, the new X3 and X4 M Sport Competition feature the M Package, which adds more aggressive and muscular bumpers with very pronounced, large air intakes.

Very dark
On top of all this, the new 20-inch M alloy wheels in gloss black finish are the ideal complement to the features already mentioned, combined with red M Sport brake calipers, an element that provides the necessary touch of colour.
As you can see in the photographs, this Full Black look is enhanced by the carbon fibre mirror caps, or the grille, mouldings and window surrounds in black, which belong to the BMW Individual Shadow Line package, giving it an imposing aesthetic and radiating character.
Leaving the exterior aside, if we step inside the new X3 M Sport Edition, we can see the new seats upholstered in Verneska black or those upholstered in Merino leather in Fiona Red & Black in the case of the X4, which in our humble opinion are the most flattering.

In addition, both models share common elements such as the sporty pedals, the sporty multifunction steering wheel with M-coloured stitching, and carbon fibre trim.
Engines and prices
Under the bonnet, the X3 features the engine of the M40d version; that is, a six-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 3.0 litres that produces 340 CV of power and no less than 700 Nm of maximum torque, all paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Conversely, if we prefer the coupé version of the SUV, we will have under its bonnet a turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 3.0 litres that produces 360 CV of power and 500 Nm of maximum torque, paired with the same transmission and drive system as the X3.
Having gone through all this, the price of the BMW X3 M Sport Edition starts at 9,980,000 yen, or in other words 76,177 euros at current exchange rates. Meanwhile, the BMW X4 M Sport Edition starts at a slightly higher price, specifically from 10,225,000 yen; that is, from 78,047 euros at current exchange rates.
