BYD is preparing an electric saloon together with YangWang
The Chinese brand that has recently made its way into the Spanish market is launching a new luxury electric saloon with YangWang, which will even compete with the Taycan

The market for luxury electric saloons is experiencing rapid growth in the F segment. Aware of this, BYD, the Chinese brand that has recently made its way into the Spanish market, has decided to target this category through its premium brand YangWang with the production of a new premium electric saloon, driven by its tireless pursuit of leadership in the electric vehicle market.
In recent months, YangWang has captured attention with the launch of the U8 off-roader and the presentation of the U9 supercar, under its new YangWang brand, which will continue to offer premium models. Now, all eyes are on the new electric model that will expand YangWang’s still-emerging range.
The vehicle’s propulsion is expected to be related to that of the YangWang U9, a concept from the company that will break the limits of electric performance. BYD is immersed in an ambitious strategy to launch a series of new products in a short period of time. The Chinese giant, specialised in electrified vehicles, is working on an electric car that promises to play a prominent role in the luxury market.
E4 platform of the YangWang U8
BYD has kept this project in absolute secrecy, although the first reports indicate that it will be based on the E4 platform. This architecture will be equipped with four electric motors that give its flagship saloon an all-wheel drive system and a high-capacity battery. The total system output is expected to exceed 1,000 CV. In addition, it will feature DiSus technology, an intelligent body control system that guarantees an exceptional level of comfort.

The interior, like other BYD models, seeks to combine quality and technology. It features a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 23.6-inch touchscreen on the centre console and an additional 12.8-inch screen for the front passenger. The cabin is expected to be packed with digital and connected features to deliver a first-class driving experience, as in its other models.
Photos taken during one of the vehicle’s development stages have revealed that BYD is preparing a family model designed for travel, with high performance and advanced technology. It will be equipped with LiDAR sensors on the roof and front bumper. The model is also expected to reach 1,000 km of range, making it a truly strong competitor thanks to the batteries the company fits.
BYD is making a strong impression
The leaked images reveal the appearance of this new YangWang electric car, whose name is still unknown. According to information coming from China, the aim of this project is to create a luxurious electric car capable of competing with rivals such as the Porsche Taycan, the Mercedes EQS and the BMW i7.

BYD is a prominent example of the great ambition with which China is embracing the era of electric vehicles. The Asian group is betting on both low-cost cars and mid-range and premium models. We have seen how the brand intends to compete with many brands by offering models of every kind, competing with the Tesla Model 3 with its BYD Seal, or the Dacia Spring with its BYD Seagull, or the §6Daciah56§ with the BYD Dolphin.
This model does not yet have a launch date, but it is expected to reach the market in the first half of next year. As for price, it is estimated to start at around €100,000, placing it in the range of luxury electric saloons.
