Novitec Spofec gives the Rolls-Royce Phantom a rebellious edge and considerably increases its power

Tuning a vehicle like the Rolls-Royce Phantom is no easy task, but Novitec and its Spofec division have done it again, also providing greater power

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is the brand’s hallmark and identity, the ultimate expression of how far luxury, attention to detail and craftsmanship on four wheels can be taken. Phantom owners basically look for exactly that, but, luckily for tuning houses that also focus on luxury vehicles, such as Novitec’s division Spofec, others also want to bring out the rebellious side of these cars.

Modifying a vehicle of this kind may be considered sacrilege by brand devotees, but at Novitec, and especially Spofec, they are specialists at retouching almost imperceptibly, and with this Phantom they have achieved it once again. If you look closely, the front has been replaced with a new one that is practically identical. It differs from the standard one in that the new is made of carbon fibre and has at its ends a small spoiler intended to positively influence the overall aerodynamics.

This spoiler connects with the side skirts, which are discreet but also play a role in improving the aerodynamics of a vehicle as enormous and powerful as the Phantom, and also include a small vertical fin just behind the front wheel arches. At the rear, changes are also made that fit the vehicle’s original lines very well, with a new one-piece rear bumper, with side air outlets and, lower down, the exhaust outlets, giving it a sportier look. The rear is nicely finished off with a subtle spoiler above the boot lid.

In the latest update of the Phantom, Rolls-Royce took the opportunity to introduce spectacular stainless steel wheels, 3D milled in a classic style, which inspired Novitec, together with the American wheel specialist Vossen, to use the latest forging technology and CNC machining, resulting in the beautiful and enormous 24-inch wheels seen in the photos, which can be ordered painted in one of 72 available colours, or polished or brushed. Finally, Spofec developed a special module for the air suspension, bringing the Phantom 40 mm closer to the ground and giving it a spectacular stance, although above 140 km/h it returns to its original height.

As expected, the Phantom’s interior has not been modified. What has been modified is its 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, which delivers 570 CV as standard and a brutal 900 Nm of torque. Novitec Spofec has installed the N-Tronic control module, which raises the power to 685 CV and the torque to a brutal 1,010 Nm. Thanks to these figures, the Phantom reaches 100 km/h in just 5 seconds, while the EWB variant does so only a tenth of a second slower, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h due to the weight of the vehicle.
