Electric cars use a battery as their source of propulsion to move. This movement can be assisted by a combustion engine (hybrid HEV and plug-in hybrid PHEV) or powered solely by the battery (100% electric EV).
2020 is set to be the year of electric vehicles, when all brands will present their electric products and mark the start of the transition to the electric era, driven by brands’ commitment, growing social awareness of climate change, and regulations from city councils and governments that increasingly restrict the most polluting vehicles.
Nissan has begun to reveal the first details of what will be the next taxi to run through the British city of London. It is an adaptation of the NV200 van, with modifications to its exterior design. In the technical section we find a 1.6 petrol engine or a 100% electric variant.

BMW has announced the official price list for Spain of its most sporty and revolutionary model, the i8. Se ha experimentado con éxito en Japón el sistema Vehicle-to-Building, que servirá para suministrar energía eléctrica a oficinas. La idea es que las baterías del Nissan Leaf sirvan como proveedoras de electricidad cuando las tarifas son más caras y que el sistema funcione a la inversa cuando las tarifas son más baratas. Este sistema se complementa con LEAF-to-Home.
BMW sigue anunciando buenas noticias a lo largo de este 2013 que llega a su fin. La última novedad es que la producción del i8, su deportivo eléctrico, está vendida de aquí a un año gracias al gran número de reservas en firme que BMW tiene en su haber. Un gran éxito de la submarca eléctrica alemana.
Volkswagen will showcase its next 100% electric vehicle, the e-up!, from 12 to 14 November through a media exhibition on the streets of Madrid. It will also take part in the EXPOelèctric Fórmula-e event in Barcelona. The e-up! will go on sale from mid-2014.
Honda today reveals the lines of the first sketch of the Honda FCEV Concept, a model it will present at the next edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show, which opens on November 20. Parece que el modelo que continuará a los i3 e i8 sería el i5, una berlina de tamaño grande. El i3 ya ofrece una versatilidad cercana a un SUV, por lo que no ven posible un futuro SUV.
