Dacia Bigster: the new Romanian SUV will arrive with plug-in hybrid powertrain

Dacia has been one of the best-selling brands in Europe for a long time. The Dacia Sandero is the brand’s best-selling car, and in the SUV segment, the Dacia Duster has also become a benchmark for affordable and reliable crossovers. Another SUV model is set to arrive soon and wants to occupy an important space in the European market.

The Dacia Bigster will arrive in 2025, although many details about this model are already being made public. What we already know is that it will inherit the design style presented by the third generation of the Duster. It will look very similar to the pre-production version, although it will have some changes compared to it.

One of those changes is a longer wheelbase and a more pronounced rear end, which increases its length to 4.60 metres. It will also have a sliding panoramic roof, making it the first model from this brand to offer this feature.

Inside, it will be able to seat up to seven passengers, thanks to a third row of seats. The driver will have two screens in front of them, one for the instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system.

But the most important point will be the use of the CMF-B platform of the group Renault. With it, it will be easier to use several types of engines, including plug-in hybrid powertrains in its range. It will not be the only hybrid option, as it will also have a full hybrid version and another with 48-volt mild hybridisation. To complete the range, it will also have the LPG version, a variant that is quite common in Dacia models.

As for price, this model is expected to not exceed 30,000 euros, with an estimated launch price of around 25,000 euros. This remains a rumour, as nothing has been officially announced on the matter. Either way, we will not have to wait long to learn more details about the model and its launch.
