dEmo and FIAT: two partners united by a love of art

dEmo, a Spanish artist who has become an international reference in urban art, has become the new ambassador of Fiat, a brand with which he feels completely reflected

Art and the automotive world go hand in hand, and the kinship between the two worlds is clear. A car, just like any work of art, has to catch the eye, and no one would hang a painting they didn’t like in their living room or buy a car they found ugly.

If we think of a vehicle with a seductive design, classic yet modern at the same time, with fluid lines and designed for the urban environment, the Fiat 500 is the first that comes to mind. These characteristics connect perfectly with dEmo, the new ambassador of the Italian brand.

Its alliance with Fiat has a single goal: promoting happiness on the streets of the whole world. How to achieve it? By democratizing the most avant-garde art to generate pleasant sensations in people’s everyday lives.

dEmo and FIAT bring art to street level

The revolutionary spirit of the acclaimed Spanish artist centers on bringing art closer to everyone. Far from the art rooms of luxurious museums, much of dEmo’s ingenious work is on the street, because this is the only way to ensure that anyone who wants to can enjoy a work as curious and attractive as his.

True to his formula of bringing his art to street level, dEmo is present in major cities such as London, Paris, Miami and New York with works such as his distinctive gummy bear sculptures. Of course, the streets of Spain are his favourite “museum”, so we can enjoy his works in Valencia, Barcelona or in his native Madrid. Precisely in the Spanish capital is where we can find most of his works: his bears are present at the entrance of the IFEMA Fairground, in Boadilla del Monte and in Getafe.

In addition to his famous coloured bears, dEmo has created sculptures such as Nensi, the friendly monster that has become the mascot of Leganés, or the famous Rana de la Fortuna, which guards the door of the casino in Madrid on the central Paseo de Recoletos.

This passion for large cities is what has made him the perfect ambassador of Fiat, one of the brands with the most tradition in the urban vehicle segment, thanks to models such as the Panda or the Fiat 500e that our colleagues at DrivingEco tested.

Another point in common between dEmo and Fiat is the characteristic red nose he adds to some of his most recognised sculptures. Precisely this colour was chosen by the Italian brand to launch the special (RED) edition, a limited version available across its entire range which, thanks to its charitable focus, was aimed at helping with the global health emergencies we have experienced in recent times.

As could not be otherwise, dEmo drives a Fiat 500e in his day-to-day life, the electric version of the brand’s legendary city car which, depending on the battery chosen, offers a range of between 190 and 320 km. The Spanish artist has declared himself a devoted fan of the 500e, because just like his works, it is a real magnet for looks in the centre of large cities.
