Ducati pays tribute to the 750 F1 with a special Tricolore livery on the new Panigale V4, a limited edition of 1,000 units with exclusive equipment

In 1984 Ducati set out to build an exclusive road motorcycle derived from the 750 TT1 it used in competition, and so the 750 F1 was born, marking the start 40 years ago of the modern history of the Italian marque’s superbikes, a legacy that today reaches its peak with the exclusive and spectacular Panigale. The Ducati 750 F1 also featured an eye-catching “tricolore” livery, in the colours of the Italian flag, and that livery is now carried over in a limited way to the new Panigale V4.

Ducati thus wishes to pay homage to the 750 F1 and its livery with its new, ultra-modern Panigale V4, which, by the way, was unveiled last summer and received extensive changes and modifications for its new generation. This Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore, named as we said after its livery, will be limited to just 1,000 units worldwide and, in addition to its distinctive and eye-catching livery, also includes specific elements.

The Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore was designed by the prestigious Drudi Performance studio together with the Centro Stile Ducati, celebrating the white, red and green of the Italian flag placed for the first time in an asymmetrical arrangement, combined with black and white in reference to the chequered flag shown at the end of a race. It also carries the number 1 on the front and side fairings, a nod to other models of the brand that also wear it, such as the Panigale V4 R or the Multistrada Pikes Peak.

It is quite likely that most owners of the Panigale V4 Tricolore will use it sparingly and will never set foot on a circuit, but Ducati conceived the Panigale V4 to get the most out of it on track and, logically, the Tricolore too. This is not the first time Ducati has used this exclusive livery, but what is new is that Ducati has expanded its standard equipment with the aim of making it even more radical and able to shave more tenths off the stopwatch.

To this end, its equipment is enhanced with elements such as carbon fibre wheels in a five-spoke design, which reduce its weight by 0.950 kg compared with the forged wheels of the Panigale V4 S, which also reduces the moment of inertia by 12% at the front and 19% at the rear, thus increasing its agility and its tendency to tighten the line on acceleration while still leaned over. In addition, the Panigale V4 Tricolore can proudly claim to be the first motorcycle in the world to fit the Front Brake Pro braking system, consisting of two Brembo T-Drive discs measuring 338.5 mm in diameter and 6.2 mm thick, not to mention the HypureTM calipers with titanium anodised treatment and the MCS 19.21 front brake master cylinder with remote adjustment of the brake lever position, just like MotoGP and Superbike machines.

The exclusive standard equipment of the Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore is completed with a dry clutch, adjustable aluminium footpegs, a GPS module and, for those who spend more time on track than on the road, a aluminium competition fuel cap, brake caliper carriers, an open carbon fibre clutch cover and a kit for removing the number plate holder. All of this is complemented by the plexiglass fairing used in competition, a seat upholstered in Alcantara and a specific animation on the instrument cluster when the ignition is switched on.

Each Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore will carry its model name and serial number on the machined aluminium steering stem, which also appears on the ignition key, and each unit will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a specific cover, delivered in a custom box matching the livery. Optionally, each owner may request a limited-edition helmet and jacket in colours that replicate those of the motorcycle itself.
