Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta, the most powerful convertible from the Cavallino
A new Ferrari has arrived. It is the 458 Speciale Aperta, a limited edition of 499 units capable of delivering the strongest emotions while retaining the style and sportiness of every Ferrari. A masterpiece from Maranello capable of reaching 325 km/h.

Ferrari has just unveiled the latest version of its V8 model, the 458. This is the 458 Speciale Aperta, a convertible edition whose production will be limited to 499 units.
Its official presentation will take place at the Paris Motor Show in less than a week, when we will be able to learn the details of this exclusive model firsthand.
The exterior design of the Speciale Aperta follows the lines we have already seen on the 458 Speciale. Looking back, we must remember that the 458 Speciale is the highest-performance version of the two-seater 458. The front adopts more aerodynamic lines, designed to improve grip and driving at high speeds. According to the manufacturer, it is “the most aerodynamic convertible in the history of the Ferrari”.
Of course, the entire silhouette of the Ferrari is full of small aerodynamic details, add-ons, intakes and spoilers. It is not only about being sporty, but about looking it. And this Ferrari does so very well.

Inside, things are not very different. A pair of bucket seats upholstered in Alcantara ensure firm support in any circumstance, while the floor is partly left bare, unupholstered, which gives an idea of the level of sportiness of this Ferrari. The dashboard is also fully covered in Alcantara, while on the central console we find, just as in the closed version, that small piece of “goldsmith’s work” in carbon fiber with which to operate the automated gearbox.

The 458 Speciale Aperta is powered by a 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 that delivers 605 CV and 540 Nm. This gem is capable of revving above 9,000 rpm and, paired with a dual-clutch automated gearbox, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, while reaching 200 km/h from a standstill takes 9.5 seconds, 0.4 more than the closed version. The top speed is rated at 325 km/h. As we have seen, performance hardly suffers compared with the closed versions, since the weight difference with the coupé version does not reach 50 kg, thanks to the light metals used in its construction.
