Very few owners of a Ferrari 488 Pista would consider improving what the supercar from Maranello offers as standard. And not because it can’t be done, something Novitec demonstrates with this preparation, having recently shown us that Novitec also dares to “tune” electric cars such as the Tesla Model 3.

The Ferrari owners are as special as their cars. And normally no “Ferrari enthusiast” wants any single part of their car altered beyond the personalisation options offered by the brand itself. Moreover, Ferrari cars hold their value, and their original condition is highly prized.

Not just looks: 82 more CV for the twin-turbo V8

Well, Novitec proposes a preparation for the Ferrari 488 Pista that is hard to resist, even though its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 is the most powerful production engine the brand has ever made.

Through a high-performance exhaust system, available in different stages, and an electronic control unit reprogramming kit (which is also “plug & play”), Novitec increases the V8’s power by 82 CV, reaching 802 CV at 7,950 rpm, with a peak torque that also gets a “boost” of an additional 128 Nm.

This upgrade allows the Novitec 488 Pista to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 345 km/h. That is just 0.15 seconds quicker and 5 km/h faster than the standard 488 Pista. But there will always be someone who wants to show off a 488 Pista faster than yours…

In addition to the engine modifications, Novitec’s preparation includes an aerodynamic package with components developed in the wind tunnel, giving it an even more aggressive look. The wheel catalogue to choose from is very extensive, highlighting the so-called Novitec N10 wheels with a centre lock nut. They are 21 inches at the front axle and 22 inches at the rear, with Pirelli P Zero tyres in 255/30 and 335/25 respectively.

And that’s not all. The Novitec suspension kit includes a hydraulic system that lowers the bodywork by 35 mm, with a system for the front axle that allows it to be raised by 40 mm, so it doesn’t scrape the underbody on ramps or kerbs.
