FIAT bets on micromobility as a future-oriented strategy

This initiative positions FIAT as a relevant player in urban mobility, combining tradition, innovation and practicality to meet the demands of modern cities.

FIAT recently unveiled its vision for light mobility at an event held in Rome, where it committed to creating a complete ecosystem for transporting people and goods in urban environments. The strategy revolves around three electric vehicles: the iconic Topolino, the Tris commercial tricycle and the innovative Multiplina prototype.

The FIAT Topolino remains the central pillar of this strategy. This small battery-electric vehicle became the leader of the light electric vehicle segment in Europe in 2025. For the second quarter of 2026, the brand anticipates a new order record, with growth of approximately 30 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. In addition, the Italian brand is broadening its appeal with new versions such as Corallo, Dolcevita, Sport and a special collector’s edition developed together with Vilebrequin.

Fiat Tris

At the same time, the company is preparing to expand the possibilities of the FIAT Tris, initially presented last year. Born as a Zero Emissions platform for last-mile deliveries in markets in Africa and the Middle East, it is now being adapted to new uses in the leisure and hospitality sectors. One example is the Dolcevita prototype. Furthermore, FIAT has announced a collaboration with Caffè Vergnano to create mobile coffee units based on the Tris, demonstrating its versatility for small businesses and itinerant hospitality services.

Four-seat micromobility

The Multiplina prototype, on the other hand, represents the next evolution. This study reinterprets the historic Fiat600 Multipla and serves as a bridge between the compact Topolino and a conventional car. FIAT plans to launch a four-seat production version in the L7e category in 2028, offering more space and comfort than the Topolino.

Fiat Multiplina Concept

With these three models, the Italian manufacturer covers a broad range of urban needs: everyday personal mobility with the Topolino and commercial and delivery applications with the Tris, while also offering practical solutions for four occupants with the Multiplina. FIAT thus integrates, for the first time, its activities in the light electric vehicle sector under a unified micromobility strategy.

“Today, with Topolino, Tris and our vision of the future with Multiplina, we are building on our legacy and creating a complete ecosystem for the cities of tomorrow”.
