FIAT Giga Panda and Fiat Fastback: getting closer to launch

FIAT is using the Grande Panda to prepare versions based on the same platform, which will bring other SUV versions to reach more drivers.

Within the Stellantis range, FIAT is one of the brands making the most moves to offer practical models aimed at buyers who want everyday cars capable of covering their daily needs. To that end, they have just announced the launch of two new models for the general public: the FIAT Giga Panda and the FIAT Fastback, which will be manufactured at the Moroccan plant in Kenitra.

At this plant, the aim is to deliver a race of innovation and attractive models for the general public. By 2030, 535,000 vehicles are expected to roll off the assembly line, thanks to the investment and the changes being made at the plant so that it becomes the leading factory it aims to be.

The FIAT Giga Panda will be a 4.4-metre SUV which, as its name suggests, inherits the spirit of the Panda. Its aim is to update the model’s styling and take it into the SUV segment. This model is scheduled to arrive in autumn 2026 and is expected to be priced at 25,000 euros. This would place it as a good option for drivers who want a versatile car with an urban spirit without giving up other options.

The FIAT Fastback, for its part, is a coupé-style SUV 4.5 metres long. Its look is intended to convey dynamic and bold sensations, targeting young drivers. It is also based on the FIAT Grande Panda and, like the Giga Panda, is built on the Smart Car platform, the same one used by the Grande Panda and the Citroën C3.

As for engines, there are three powertrain systems: a mild-hybrid engine, a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 100 CV, and a fully electric model. The latter will come with two battery packs, of 44 and 54 kWh, offering a range of 300 and 400 kilometres. With these three powertrains, FIAT covers the needs of all types of drivers.
