The Fiat Panda 4x4 is revealed in its final and official version

Fiat has officially unveiled the first images of the Fiat Panda 4×4, which will feature changes to its front end to improve its off-road performance, as well as two parallel variants called Trekking and Natural Power.

Fiat has published the first official photos of the Panda 4×4, ahead of its arrival at the Paris Motor Show. As a 4×4 enthusiast, it’s really satisfying to see that Fiat has refined the Panda for driving on tough tracks and off-road, in the countryside. The new Panda will have larger wheel arches and a slight overall redesign, with two new colours available.

The new Panda won’t fall behind other interesting offerings in this city-friendly yet off-road-capable segment, as it will come equipped with standard electronic stability control and electronic differential lock, as well as the Torque on Demand system, which modulates the distribution of traction according to road conditions.

The new Panda will be available with two engines, the 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo with 84 CV and the 1.3 MultiJet with 74 CV. Both will send power to the ground through a six-speed manual gearbox, with Start/Stop system included. The previous 1.2-litre engine may still be offered in certain markets.

As can be seen, Fiat has fitted additional plastic protection to the new Panda, mainly on the sump and along the sides of the vehicle, and the suspension has been raised a little more still. The 15-inch wheels will also get a redesign for 175/65 R15 tyres.

The arrival of this new Panda 4×4 will be accompanied by two new models in the range, the Trekking and the Natural Power. The Trekking will be an intermediate step between the 4×2 and 4×4 versions, with the Traction+ technology traction control system; the latter uses the 0.9 TwinAir engine with 80 CV, which will be adapted to run on methane gas or petrol.
