FIAT unveils the new Doblò alongside its 100% electric version, the E-Doblò
FIAT has officially unveiled the fifth generation of its Doblò van, which arrives accompanied by its fully electric version, the E-Doblò

The Doblò is one of FIAT’s star vans and arrives in its fifth generation with important new features, especially regarding its powertrains, as the Italian brand continues to advance its plan to electrify its commercial vehicle range. The small FIAT van is joined by the fully electric E-Doblò, which takes its place alongside the E-Scudo and E-Ducato.
FIAT announces that the new Doblò and E-Doblò will be offered at launch in two lengths and three different configurations called VAN, Crew Cab and Combi. Regardless of the body configuration chosen, the brand has paid special attention in this fifth generation to comfort, improving the working conditions of those who will spend the most hours inside it thanks to enhanced soundproofing and a suspension designed to reduce bumps and vibrations.

In addition, both the cabin and the cargo area of the Doblò and E-Doblò benefit from what FIAT calls “Magic Features”, which provide greater modularity or enhanced safety, among other characteristics. Among these solutions we can find, for example, the Magic Cargo, which increases the cargo space by 0.5 m³ to carry objects up to 3.4 m long or transport fragile items in the compartment under the passenger seat, and the Magic Mirror, a 5-inch rear-view mirror that offers three different views.

More specifically, the E-Doblò will also feature solutions of this kind, such as the Magic Plug, exclusive to this version, which allows its battery energy to power a cool box or an electric work tool. These are not the only solutions FIAT offers for its new 100% electric van, as there is also the Magic Window, a hinged window in the rear door; the Magic Top, roof windows that provide extra space along with a transparent shelf and a roof box; and the Magic View function, which adds a 180º camera for a complete rear view.

Mechanically, the new FIAT Doblò will be available with a 1,500 cc diesel engine producing 100 CV, paired with a manual gearbox, or the same engine with its output raised to 130 CV, which can be combined with either a manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Those who prefer a petrol engine can opt for the 1,200 cc unit with 110 CV and a manual gearbox.

As for the FIAT E-Doblò, it uses a fully electric motor delivering 100 kW (around 134 CV) with a torque of 260 Nm, together with a 50 kWh battery that gives it a range of 280 km according to the WLTP test cycle. This battery can be recharged thanks to the “Quick Charge Mode” at up to 100 kW DC, reaching 80% charge in just 30 minutes. It also features three driving modes that let us adapt the battery’s energy use to our needs and remaining charge.
Both the Doblò and E-Doblò will be manufactured at Stellantis’ Vigo plant, while FIAT has indicated that in the coming months it will provide more specific information on equipment for the Spanish market, at which point we will also learn their prices.
