First official images of the Maserati GranTurismo 2022
The Maserati GT dons camouflage in these first images. It will be one of the big new features as the brand’s first 100% electric car.

The Maserati GranTurismo is one of the great, iconic models in the history of the trident brand. That is why they have decided that the new GranTurismo must be the chosen one, becoming the first model with a 100% electric powertrain from the brand.
Maserati has unveiled the first official images of its next new model on the streets of Modena, where the brand’s headquarters are located, and at the premises of the Maserati Innovation Lab, the engineering center where the Italian brand develops its creations.

The new Maserati GranTurismo will serve to complete its range, which has lacked a GT since 2019, the year the last generation of the GranTurismo, which had been with us since 2007, was removed from the brand’s model lineup.
The next GT will join the trident lineup made up of the Quattroporte, the Ghibli, the Levante, the supercar MC20 and the upcoming Maserati Grecale, the D-SUV expected next year.
Redesigned exterior with elements from the MC20
The images of the prototype that stars in these pictures of the upcoming GranTurismo show a less elongated bonnet with quite pronounced ribs that give it a more aggressive touch, new vertical headlights following the design line of its sibling the MC20, and a large grille in the purest Maserati style topped with the trident logo in the centre.

The final launch of the new GranTurismo is expected in 2022, as it is currently in the midst of its development, with intensive testing on roads, circuits and under various different usage conditions, to gather the necessary data and the final touches for its definitive tuning.
As we said before, the next GranTurismo will have the important mission of being the first model with a 100% electric powertrain, and it will also offer a petrol version fitted with a V6 “Nettuno” engine from the MC20, which will exceed 600 CV, another major novelty, since we will no longer find V8 engines as we knew them until now in the GranTurismo.
What will become of the convertible version?
Many of you will be wondering what will happen to the convertible version of the GranTurismo, that is, the one known as the Maserati GranCabrio, and there is good news, as the roofless version will also continue in the Italian brand’s range.
