Fisker finally reached its production target for 2023
The annual production volume of the Ocean electric SUV is currently well above the number of vehicles that Fisker is able to deliver to its customers.
The Californian manufacturer has reason to celebrate after managing to produce just over 10,000 units of its Ocean electric SUV in 2023 and deliver almost 5,000 of them in the same year. More specifically, the number of Ocean units produced at Magna Steyr’s Austrian plant in Graz amounted to 10,142, while the number delivered was around 4,700.
Throughout 2023, Fisker was forced to lower its production target on several occasions. The company began the year intending to produce 42,000 units of the Ocean SUV, but it cut this figure consecutively in May, August and November, until settling on an annual production volume of 10,000 units. A target it has finally managed to reach.

Beyond production, Fisker acknowledged last November that it had a problem with the company’s structure in providing proper repair service to its customers and in delivering new vehicles at the same pace as they came off the assembly line. This is precisely one of the reasons why the company, in November, again lowered its production target to the aforementioned 10,000 units, since there is no point in producing more vehicles if they cannot be delivered to customers quickly enough.
Changes in Fisker’s strategy
The company says that, to resolve this situation, from now on it will strengthen its relationship with dealerships, while maintaining its commitment to direct sales via the internet. Fisker hopes to soon have around a hundred sales points spread across the European and North American markets, roughly 50 in each of them.
In statements to the media, Henrik Fisker himself recalled that the company is transforming its strategy, now giving greater importance to more traditional sales channels. This change is also especially necessary before launching the sale of new models. Fisker has reportedly been in negotiations with potential partners since last November 2023.

Fisker currently has two showrooms in the United States, one in Los Angeles and another in New York. In Europe, it has locations called Fisker Centre+ in the cities of Copenhagen in Denmark, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf in Germany, Stockholm in Sweden, Oslo in Norway, Paris in France, Vienna in Austria, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and London and Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom. In addition to a Fisker Lounge in the German city of Munich.
