Ford Focus ST: even more sporty with the new Track package

The Ford Focus ST is probably one of the compact cars with the best balance of price, performance and driving fun in its class. Now, in full commercial maturity, Ford enhances its appeal with the new Track package, aimed at true driving enthusiasts. And as a presentation credential, it is enough to note that this is a package developed by Ford Performance, and tuned specifically at the Nürburgring, no less.

Ford offers this new Track package only in combination with the Focus ST five-door body and manual gearbox. An equipment package that affects neither the power of the 2.3 Ecoboost 2.3 petrol engine, which remains at 280 CV, nor the performance, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration that stays at 5.7 seconds.

Adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes and lighter wheels

The “heart” of the Track package is the new suspension developed by KW Automotive, with dampers offering two adjustment modes (12 adjustment steps in rebound and 16 steps in compression) and new springs 50% firmer that lower the body height by a further 10 mm compared with the standard Focus ST. As the second element of the sports kit, the 19-inch wheels stand out, 10% lighter than the standard ones thanks to a special manufacturing process. As part of the pack, the wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres.

Another element that has a lot to say when it comes to track driving is the brakes. In this case, the front discs are fitted with a diameter 10% larger, gripped by four-piston Brembo calipers.

Visually, Focus ST cars with the Track package are distinguished, besides the wheels and lowered body height, by the gloss black finish on the rear spoiler, diffuser and front bumper fins. The grille, the mirror housings and the alloy wheels themselves also have a gloss black finish, against which the brake calipers painted red stand out.
