Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of America: the Mustang that pays tribute to the United States
Ford aims to stand out with this new special edition of the Mustang GTD, which pays tribute to American engineering and to the model.

A change of president is coming soon in the United States, and it is a good moment for Ford to take advantage of this situation to present a car that flies the American flag and pays tribute to the American spirit. The Ford Mustang GTD is a variant of the muscle car model that goes head to head with the Porsche 911, and it receives this special edition at a somewhat low point for the Mustang.
The intentions of Ford include paying tribute to American ingenuity, but also to Craig Breedlove, the American driver who managed to beat the land speed record, reaching speeds of 804 km/h and 965 km/h in two runs during the 1960s.

To honor the driver, the livery is finished in Performance White, decorated with the typical Mustang stripe, in Race Red and Lightning Blue Racing. This livery represents the overalls the driver wore during this run. In addition, the Mustang GTD became the first Mustang to complete the legendary Nürburgring lap in under seven minutes.
It is equipped with the GTD Performance package, which includes front splitter plates, a larger front splitter, lower fins, an aerodynamic package that improves air resistance, and magnesium wheels measuring 20 inches. Carbon fiber is exposed to make the model’s look more striking. The front splitter, rear diffuser and spoiler are made of this material, so they stand out strongly.

FORD MUSTANG GTD SPIRIT OF AMERICA
The Mustang legend has been added to the lower part of the spoiler, in a bold red color. The wheels feature brake calipers in Race Red, and the mirror caps can be painted in this color or in carbon fiber.
Inside, you will find elements such as leather seats with Dinamica inserts, which make this variant different and help it stand out from others. The seats also have Race Red details to create a fairly striking contrast. The Victory Blue color stands out in various places in the cabin, so it is quite noticeable.
To improve the interior, Ford offers several alternatives, with 3D-printed elements. This makes the cabin feel a bit more special and, for a little more than the starting price, you get a somewhat more interesting car.
The engine
Under the hood there are no changes, which means the driver will sit behind the wheel of a car equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This unit delivers 815 CV and 900 Nm of torque. To control all this power, it features carbon-ceramic brakes and semi-active suspension.
It is not known how many units of this version will be built or what they will cost, although it is expected to exceed by far the 325,000 dollars that a standard Mustang GTD costs.
