Dacia kicks off sales of the new Bigster, revealing the trim levels that make up the range and its price

Dacia Bigster (6)

Perhaps we would all like BMW, Audi or Mercedes, to name three premium brands, to be the best-selling cars in Spain, because that would be one of the signs of a strong economy, but market rules are often dictated by other factors such as practicality, need or each driver’s particular circumstances when deciding which car to buy. What is a reality is that it is not a premium vehicle, but mind you, since 2013 the Dacia Sandero has ruled the sales ranking with an iron fist, and in 2024 it once again became the best-selling model.

It is clear that Dacia’s formula with the Sandero works for the general public, not to mention other models that are also popular, such as the Duster, and despite having a not-so-extensive line-up, it covers what most drivers need. Precisely this line-up is expanded from today onwards with a new proposal we were presented with a few months ago: the Bigster, an SUV that arrives to make things difficult for the C-segment.

In terms of mechanicals, the Dacia Bigster’s offer consists first of the petrol engine TCe 140 CV equipped with 48 V mild-hybrid technology, which assists the engine during start-up and acceleration phases. Secondly, and for the first time in a Dacia, we have the ECO-G engine, which combines petrol and LPG with 48 V mild-hybrid technology, also offering a power output of 140 CV and which certainly looks set to be a success. The next step up is the 155 CV hybrid engine paired with an automatic gearbox and, on the other hand, the 130 CV TCe with permanent all-wheel drive and 6-speed manual gearbox, also equipped with 48 V mild-hybrid technology.
