Honda Civic e:HEV, this is the new generation of the Japanese compact
The Honda Civic e:HEV will reach dealerships after the summer, but we still don’t know its starting price.

The eleventh generation of the Honda Civic arrives just as the model celebrates its 50th anniversary. Its main novelty is its full hybridisation, but we must not forget its new design, its safety and its technological arsenal. The new Japanese compact will reach the market after the market launch and with five doors.
Its powertrain consists of a 2.0-litre petrol engine linked to two additional electric motors. Its combined output is 184 CV, and it features elements that allow it to achieve a thermal efficiency of 41%. Its consumption will be below five litres and it will homologate CO2 emissions of 110 g/km, so it will be exempt from the registration tax.

It is important to highlight that the model can switch modes automatically without driver intervention. The driver only has to choose between the four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual, a mode that allows independent control of the transmission and the instrument panel to adapt the response of the Japanese compact.

It has a very attractive, yet sporty silhouette. The bonnet of the Honda Civic e:HEV is now 25 mm lower than in the previous generation, while the glazing has been increased to create a bright and spacious atmosphere. In addition, the A-pillar has been moved so that it is aligned with the centre of the front wheels. This translates into much more balanced proportions and greater robustness.
The wheelbase has also increased, so interior space has improved considerably. Once inside, the horizontal lines of the dashboard stand out. The materials used are of high quality, among which the air vents in the form of a metallic honeycomb stand out. The screen that manages the infotainment system reaches up to nine inches and has been raised to reduce the driver’s eye movement. In addition, it is now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As for safety, the new Honda Civic e:HEV comes equipped with the safety package called Honda Sensing which, among other elements, includes a front camera with a 100-degree panoramic view and much improved recognition technology. It also has sonar sensors at the front and rear, but we must not forget the collision prevention and mitigation system, the unintentional lane change warning and prevention system, adaptive cruise control technology i-ACC, blind spot information system, cross-traffic monitoring system and traffic jam assist system.
