Honda CR-V 2013: the fourth generation arrives

Honda announces the fourth generation of the CR-V, while also putting the last units of the current generation on sale, with very attractive conditions.

The venerable Honda CR-V will give way to the fourth generation of the model, which we will have in our country starting in November. At the same time, the Japanese brand wanted to share information about new offers for the CR-V models still in stock.

For the first time, the new CR-V will be available with the option of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, while the improvements made to the engine range have considerably reduced emissions. Somewhat later than its siblings on sale in Japan and America, the new model adopts a more aggressive design, and the aerodynamics feature more defined lines and a bolder front end.

The lower front bumper has been designed to express the ability of an SUV to tackle obstacles and climb slopes with a wide approach angle. At the rear, the vertical tail lights characteristic of the CR-V are retained, which were introduced in the first generation, but with a more contemporary style, with LED lights, which have also been applied to the front daytime running lights.

In the cabin, the 5-inch multi-information display (i-MID) stands out, which controls the audio, phone and navigation systems (in the versions that include them). To reinforce the sense of interior space, the door surrounds have been made with a concave shape, which has also allowed the occupants of the front seats to get closer to the sides of the vehicle, making it easier to get in and out. The front seats also incorporate a impact protection system, absorbing energy in the event of an accident and reducing the risk of injury from impact.

Under the bonnet of the CR-V, customers will find a 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine or a 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Both have been developed from the engines available on the current CR-V, but have been completely redesigned with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions. The power of the 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine has increased from 150 to 155 hp, while torque has risen by 2 Nm to reach 192 Nm. Despite this performance increase, CO2 emissions have dropped from 192 g/km to 174 g/km in the manual version and from 195 g/km to 176 g/km in the automatic.

Promotion of Honda for the current generation CR-V

Until November, Honda Automóviles España is offering the last units of the current generation CR-V with very special conditions. Customers can thus benefit from a Honda CR-V 2.2 i-DTEC Comfort Special Series for €25,300 (vs €29,900) with a high level of equipment: 17″ alloy wheels, Alcantara/textile mixed upholstery, parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, CD radio with MP3 player, on-board computer, fog lights and other extras.
